Alex Odell

A little bit

about myself…

I’ve spent over a decade doing work that I genuinely care about—helping brands find their voice, tell their story, and connect with the people who matter most to them.

My background spans B2B and B2C, digital and print, motion and stillness, but the through-line has always been the same: take something complex and make it feel effortless.

I love the challenge of a big idea and the craft of seeing it through—from the first sketch on a whiteboard to the moment it goes live in Times Square. I’ve led cross-functional teams, navigated tight timelines, and built creative systems that scale—and somewhere along the way, picked up a few awards that remind me why the work is worth doing right.

At the end of the day, I’m a storyteller who happens to think visually. And I’m at my best when the problem is hard and the stakes are real.

Testimonials:

"I am humbled to have worked with many great creative teams, agencies, and brilliant minds during my marketing career, but it has been rare that I encounter someone as talented as Alex. Sure he executes flawlessly on all the important, fundamental “stuff”, like any great designer – responsive during urgent times of need, highly consultative, passionate about work, etc. – but what always impressed me most about Alex was his uncanny ability to take minimal input (usually a poorly crafted creative brief), and translate it into a finished piece that was truly awe-inspiring. If your team needs a Graphic Designer, look no further. I would proudly recommend Alex without hesitation."

"Alex is the Art Director assigned to the Enterprise business channel where I act as the head of marketing. Since I joined Web.com, Alex and I have partnered together on many projects, both big (trade show booths, digital ads, landing pages) and small (collateral pieces, postcards). I’ve watched him lead kick-off meetings with large teams and shepherd very important and complex projects across the finish line. These “big picture” skills are matched by a keen eye and a sharp attention to detail.

Each year our business has a presence at a very large industry event, IFA. I worked with Alex on many breakout projects tied to this event over a period of several months, and he continually impressed me with his ability to consider and balance strategic issues, creative concepts and practical considerations to each project – whether it was the design of the large 20x20 trade show booth, the event landing page, the collateral pieces, the digital ads or social media images. He was a true partner. Nights, weekends, calls over the holiday break, hundreds of emails, countless Slack messages, video chats on Zoom … Alex was 100% dedicated to making every visual element of our event amazing.

Not only is Alex an extraordinarily skilled Art Director, but he is a delightful human and a guy who makes things happen. Every project Alex works on he brings his best. If you have the great fortunate to partner with this guy, consider yourself lucky!I am humbled to have worked with many great creative teams, agencies, and brilliant minds during my marketing career, but it has been rare that I encounter someone as talented as Alex. "Alex is an exceptional design and creative resource, not only because his designs are spectacular, brand/attitude appropriate, and innovative, but also because he is open to feedback, amicably collaborative, and genuinely interested in the best outcome – even over his own personal taste. Design is inherently subjective, and I’ve had the chance to work with some great designers and creative people, but most (myself included), are naturally defensive of their own creations. Alex will stand up for what he thinks is best, but is incredibly cooperative and truly engaged in seeking great results. If you can get him, take him!"
